Dr. Abraham Adhanom loves the Lord and has a heart and passion for ministry. Abraham was born into a Lutheran family and grew up in the church environment in Asmara, Eritrea, East Africa. His father, The Rev. Kidane Adhanom, was a Lutheran Pastor in Eritrea and also served as a Pastor in the Bay Area, California, for over fifteen years. Abraham’s home church is Christ Lutheran Church, Brea, California, and he also attends and helps a small Eritrean Lutheran congregation at Good Shepherd Lutheran in Downey, California. Professionally, he serves as an Associate Professor of Business and Management at Azusa Pacific University in Southern California. He is also a faculty member at the UCLA International Institute. 

He has over 20 years of teaching and program development experience at the undergraduate, graduate (MBA), and doctoral levels. Abraham previously served as a full-time professor at Concordia University-Irvine and occasionally teaches and mentors at the graduate programs when his time permits. Abraham holds Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Masters in International Business, and PhD in Management with concentration in Information Systems Management. He is a certified project management professional (PMP), certified business process management professional (BPMP), and certified master coach (CMC). He has extensive corporate consulting, community development, and performance transformation experience. Before moving to the U.S., Abraham directed multiple hydraulics and civil engineering development projects sponsored by the Lutheran World Federation in East Africa.
