You’ve probably heard of people who take a missionary job in another country and utilize English classes to share the Gospel. Because someone from Minnesota followed that call to China a few years ago, a young man there named Holmes came to faith in Jesus.
As Holmes grew in his faith, he developed a passion to go to seminary and become a pastor. That led him to a seminary program at a small Lutheran seminary in the Twin Cities, which is where we met him.
Upon completing the academic portion of his studies Holmes needed a practical internship. He is compelled by a God-given dream to reach the Chinese college student population with the Gospel. Minnesota universities have a large number of Chinese national students. Very few would consider themselves Christians.
Alongside our friends at the Chinese Hospitality Center, Holmes has been able to build new relationships into the student culture. LINC has the honor of coming alongside of him in taking his God-given dream to the next level.
Together we are working on Holmes’ plan to start a new church. This church will engage the unreached Chinese student population and train young leaders to be witnesses for Jesus when they return to their homeland. Holmes is growing in his personal leadership competencies and we are excited to walk with him every step of the way in seeing his God-given dream become a reality.
